Revealed: The UK’s Most Polluted Cities

You are here: Home / Air Pollution / Revealed: The UK’s Most Polluted Cities

With over 40 towns and cities in the UK exceeding air pollution limits, is your home at risk?

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has estimated that 30 areas have fine-particle air pollution levels that are above 10 micrograms per cubic metre. They also found that another 17 were at the limit.

How exactly does fine-particle air pollution affect our health? It causes respiratory infections, stroke, heart disease and lung cancer, by penetrating deep into the lungs and cardiovascular system.

According to a report by the WHO, 9/10 people globally are breathing highly polluted air. Furthermore, it’s estimated that globally, seven million people die each year from exposure to such air pollution.

The UK government have already prioritised reducing the level of air pollution over the country with a £3.5 billion plan. They plan to implement the ‘Clean Air Strategy’ later this year, but will it be enough?

Discover the UK’s most polluted areas below*:

1) Scunthorpe.
2) Manchester.
3) Swansea.
4) Gillingham.
5) Carlisle.
6) Chepstow.
7) Leeds.
8) Leicester.
9) Liverpool.
10) Grays.

You might not be able to escape air pollution, especially if you live in one of the above, but you can create a safe and stable indoor environment, in both your workplace and home.

This is achieved by the powerful technology of the Ingenious Air® System, with the Purification module – a simple yet effective solution.

High specification air purification removes Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and other harmful pollutants that are naked to the eye. It also removes disease-causing viruses and bacteria, allergens, dust and unpleasant odours.

By using powerful photo-catalytic oxidation (PCO) technology, it acts as an ‘air sanitizer’ to reduce up to 90% or more. The unique honeycomb aluminium cells increase surface area, magnifying the effectiveness of the built-in UVC light. It’s also maintenance-free and never needs replacing.

Ready to protect your space? Find out more about installing an Ingenious Air System® with the HEPS module, to create the ultimate safe and comfortable indoor environment with clean, purified air.
