Transportation Meltdown

You are here: Home / Air Pollution / Transportation Meltdown

As temperatures continue to rocket, everyone from commuters to holiday-goers is paying the price of the heatwave.

Images online and on social media sites show indoor thermometers reaching unbearable temperatures. One picture which emerged on BBC London News shows temperatures of 48°C on a London bus.

A London bus driver explained she has personally seen temperatures of 35°C but has also seen photos online of much higher. She exclaimed the need of working air conditioning on the buses, as many fail to work, making both the bus drivers and passengers extremely uncomfortable. She also referred to the UK having a maximum livestock temperature of 30°C, but no maximum for people.

In the City and other parts of the country, many forms of transportation are being affected. The majority of train lines are facing severe delays as well as road users queuing for hours on motorways.

Outside the UK, holiday-goers looking to escape the chaos or just to cash in on the hot weather, are facing terrible delays. Unhappy Eurostar passengers have reported delays of up to 6 hours due to failed air conditioning on some carriages. The failure has affected road users both side of the Channel, with many at a standstill.

With heatwaves expected to worsen in years to come, is there an immediate solution to staying cool, comfortable and ultimately safe?

The answer is yes, with the award-winning Ingenious Air® System. It combines comfortable, draught-free cooling and heating with air and surface purification. This creates the ultimate, balanced and healthy indoor environment, which improves wellness and productivity.

The much-needed cooling option creates an even, comfortable and draught-free indoor environment. The induction method of air delivery allows for lowered relative humidity when cooling, which can achieve comfort at slightly warmer set temperatures than other systems.

When the ‘never-ending heatwave’ does let up, the heating option uses a natural, energy efficient de-stratification effect. Warmed air that usually rises and is trapped at a high level is brought back down to floor level to be re-used. Cold air normally falling to floor level is re-distributed.

Go a step further by integrating high specification air purification. This dramatically reduces all types of serious airborne pollutants before they are breathed in. Air purification also removes unpleasant odours, which can have the potential benefit of reducing the amount of polluted outside air required.

Complete the system with surface purification, powered by Provilan® to create the ultimate wellness solution. Probiotics are added to the air stream to add balance by replenishing the ‘good’ bacteria. These high quality, natural and eco-friendly microorganisms help reduce the risk of certain infectious diseases.

Backed by years of experience, research and development and various case studies, The Ingenious Air® System can help transport, workplaces, homes and everything in between.
